Meet the Team
Director
Dave Welton
As a teacher and student of the game of lacrosse, Coach Dave has spent 19 yrs working in minor lacrosse programs. He has coached with and been mentored by several NLL and Jr A coaches and had the opportunity to successfully coach at the Canadian and USA Box Nationals with champion teams as well as provincial and city level champs.
Many of his players have gone on to pursue playing careers at Jr A, CUFLA and the NCAA levels with some being drafted into the NLL. His measure of success has been that you help each player achieve their goals, they continue to play at the next level and they have fun doing it while developing as a good teammate and citizen. Dave is now teaching varsity field lacrosse at the Nation Sports Academy in Calgary.
Field Coach
Gord Henry
Instructor at the National Sports Academy in Calgary. Gord has over 25 yrs experience coaching both box and field. He was a Jr B player for Delta making Founders every year. Gord is also a certified fitness instructor and a nutrition consultant. Dave and Gord have coached many high end teams together and make a great coaching team.
New Members of the Team
Chase Misek and Jayden Richards
Chase has been involved as an alumni of Nation and now is coaching our 7 participating goalies. He is the goalie for the Calgary Shamrocks and did a great job in net at the Founders helping his team win a Bronze medal and can be found often helping kids in SALA and Calgary to learn and appreciate the game of lacrosse.

Jayden also an alumni of Nation Camps is seen here coaching his brother Luke who is a U17 player in the program this year. Jayden currently on the roster of the Calgary Junior A Mounties, takes the time to give back by coming out to Friday Night Lights and helping teach a new and returning group of players including U11,U13,U15 and U17.
